Glucosamine is available in different forms usually known as salts. While all the different types of salts of glucosamine may contain the same general components, they may not all produce the same effects in the body. These two salts have not been compared and there is not enough information about the potential differences in their activity, making it difficult to know whether these glucosamine salts are interchangeable. Glucosamine in the form of a supplement may delay the process cartilage degeneration and may aid in repair of the same. It may also promote the manufacture of synovial fluid.
